Part of what it means to be an artist is to learn how to take our ideas, talents, and mediums and synthesize them into something aesthetically meaningful and captivating. In RUF at SCAD, we believe that growing as a Christian going into the world of art and culture involves learning how to do justice to both the truth of the gospel as well as the art with which we create and engage. One of the ways we learn how to do this (while also having fun!) is through RUF Film Club.
Every film is telling us a story about the world in a way that captures our imagination and stirs our emotions. How do we learn to "read" these films and engage with them as pieces of art saying something about the world around us? How do we learn to do this through a Scriptural lens that helps us recognize what is true and beautiful about a film while simultaneously seeing how the gospel speaks into the story?
