WhAT is ruf?
Reformed
RUF has an unwavering commitment to the foundational tenets of historic Christianity. This means we follow in the long tradition of orthodox, Christian belief - "Scripture Alone" is the chief source of authority, and we are saved only by "grace alone" through "faith alone" in "Christ alone", all to the "glory of God alone."
university
RUF seeks to be more than just a ministry at SCAD, but we long to be a ministry for SCAD. Our goal is to explore how the Lordship of Jesus informs every area of life during this unique stage of a student’s life. Lecture and Studio classes at SCAD seek to give the "what?" to their growth as an artist. RUF offers to give an answer to the "why?" a student is pursuing their craft and passion.
Fellowship
All human problems originate from our alienation from God, and those problems show up vividly in broken relationships with one another. Given the nature of a college campus, this means that the four years of college can be the most isolated and lonely time in many people's lives. God’s answer to human alienation is the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, and His answer to disintegrated relationships is the church of Jesus. RUF is the arm of this restorative people reaching out to the college campus.
